I appreciate the frustration this may cause you as parents / carers but Elmwood School will be closed to pupils on Wednesday 5th July 2023 and Friday 7th July 2023 due to the NEU Industrial Action. As a Senior Leadership Team we were anticipating this so have completed all pupil end of year assessments from w/b 19th June 2023 to reduce the impact this would have on pupil progress. We look forward to sharing these achievements in our final Progress and Achievement Event on Wednesday 12th July 2023. Due to the disruption that week we have agreed on the following plan:
Monday 3rd July 2023 – Normal school day, with the exception of 7a and 7b who will be attending Stratford Upon Avon to support their English work on William Shakespeare.
Tuesday 4th July 2023 – Normal school day.
Thursday 6th July 2023 – Funday Friday where pupils will be continuing within their form group on activities that support Leadership, Communication and Preparation for Adulthood
In addition to this, pupils will be informed of their new form groups from September 2023 and during these NEU industrial action days, teaching assistants will be working on class moves to make this transition as smooth as possible.
