Dear Parents / Carers

Firstly, a huge thank you for your open and honest communication regarding your child and your intentions to self-isolate in the midst of the pandemic COVID-19. Our intention has always been to support all parents / carers in maintaining a broad and balanced educational provision for your child and we are looking forward to seeing those pupils who are not self-isolating in school on Monday 24th March 2020. Obviously, there will be changes to staff and pupil groupings based on who is in attendance (staff or pupil) but we will be utilising our own staff to maintain appropriate relationships and some degree of consistency. The new timetable can be found on the pupils’ amd whole school timetable page on the school website.

In order for the school to increase its daily cleaning routines (in line with Public Health England) the school day will not start until 9 am but will remain at a 2.25pm collection. All taxi providers have been informed of these changes and they will be in touch regarding the new collection times and if there are any changes to drivers and escorts. However, the school will close early at 12.30pm Friday 27th March 2020 and will not be open on Friday 3rd April 2020 (pre-defined INSET Day).

You will still receive your child’s Spring Term School Report which will be supported with a phone conversation with the Form Tutor Team on Thursday 26th March 2020 (this will mean your child will remain in school all day and not a 12.30pm finish as previously informed). I know this will be a celebration of their achievements so far.

Further information with regards to FSM allocation vouchers and / or packed lunch provision for those pupils not in school will follow.

Staff have provided a variety of work for your child to complete (as well as some fun and engaging activities for the whole family). This can be found on the Activities for Pupils page in addition the links that are available on the student page. If any parent has any questions / concerns about the work set then please contact who will direct to the appropriate member of staff (but please remember staff will respond at the end of the school day due to still having teaching commitments between 9.00 am – 2.25 pm).

If you require any medication that is held securely in school during this extended period of absence then please contact who will arrange a suitable time for you to collect and sign for at School.

I know things are going to be very uncertain and your child’s ability to manage their emotions is going to be tested BUT please remind them to use the strategies that are so successful in school within their own family home. Your child’s Form Tutor Team will be in contact regularly during the 4 weeks to see how things are going and appropriately signpost any help and support on offer to you and your family.

You all have beautiful, talented and exceptional children – who are going to surprise you with how well they manage this change.
