Firstly can I extend my sincere thanks to all the staff at Elmwood School for their true commitment and support during the difficult circumstances we currently find ourselves in.  Under the guidance of Lee Cross, Acting Headteacher, the School has continued to care and support families as well as provide educational resources for pupils to undertake whilst self-isolating at home.  Staff have gone over and above to ensure that pupils are not only safe but that they have support in place should they need it; my sincere thanks to you all.

I would also like to thank my fellow Governors who work tirelessly behind the scenes to assist the School and who make a great team – your help and guidance is much appreciated.

Unfortunately, as a result of the COVID19 situation, the planned interviews for the Headteacher vacancy that were due to take place on Monday 30th March 2020, have had to be postponed.  This is disappointing as Governors were hoping to be able to appoint a substantive Headteacher as soon as possible but please be assured that we will endeavour to formalise this appointment at the earliest opportunity when safe to do so.

In the meantime Governors have every confidence in our Acting Headteacher, Lee Cross, in running the School and we hope that Elmwood will be able to reopen on Monday 20th April following the Easter holidays.

Please stay safe and take care.
