We have been fortunate to receive the support from a number of local Companies and Organisations as part of our fundraising activities.

The Variety Club, Children’s Charity, enables a number of our young people and their families the chance to attend their annual charity event at West Midlands Safari Park.  Unfortunately, this year, the application form arrived too late to apply for tickets but hopefully we will be successful again in the future.

As well as having free admission into the Park, wristbands can be purchased for a £2 entitling the user to unlimited rides in the amusement area.  We are very grateful to the Variety Club for giving our students this wonderful opportunity and send our sincere thanks.  Photographs are available on the photo gallery page on the website of previous visits.

The Variety Club also offers other services to help support schools and families. They are able to help in providing wheelchairs, specialist equipment, Sunshine Coaches and Great Days Out as well as being there should families need support.

On average the Variety Club provides funding for a piece of specialist equipment for a child every 2 days, a wheelchair every 5 days and a Sunshine Coach to a school every 6 days, In addition the Varity Club also have funding opportunities that can support children and young people with special needs as well as help with grants for wheelchairs and specialist equipment for children and young people up to the age of 18 years old. An application form and guidelines can be found at: http://www.variety.org.uk

Attached is a flyer providing information on what the Variety Club provide grants for and who to contact for further information. Variety Programmes Leaflet

Students also have the opportunity to visit the Circus, usually early in the year, thanks to Circus Starr.  Thirteen pupils (a mixture of Year 7 and 8) had the opportunity of attending the performance at Walsall Arena, Bloxwich, on Wednesday 24th January 2024 where they had a brilliant time having first enjoyed a meal cooked for them in school!  A big thank you to the staff (Ms Pow, Mr Webb, Sunita Lalli and Kerry Bowen) who gave up their time to take the young people and also to the Companies and individuals who donated tickets for our use. Pupils kindly sent thank you letters following the show; a very big thank you to Circus Starr for their continued support.
